Wine 1.1.34 Released Print

The Wine development release 1.1.34 is now available.

What's new in this release:

  • Many fixes for crypto certificates support.
  • A lot of MSHTML improvements.
  • Various fixes to support the Left 4 Dead 2 DRM.
  • A number of OLE marshalling fixes.
  • More Listview improvements.
  • Various bug fixes.

The source is available now. Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.

with win98
environment this opens the web help page with my default explorer konqueror

i have also with
another feature a MS '445' error

any idea ?

Does the application work in win98 mode? or does it give the 445 error in 98 mode? You could maybe
run the app in win2k mode and just bookmark the help page in your browser.. then if you need to read
the help contents just go to the bookmark. You could also file a bug for this at winehq.org

Steam runs wonderfully under this latest version of Wine! The issues it has had in the past while
being in the tray & the hard to make out text in the friends list is also gone!

AJ was on vacation part of last week so this release is three weeks in the making not the normal
bi-weekly (2 week) release. So yea it has more fixes but their was more time between releases.

I'm finding this particular release horrible, 3 games no longer work properly, Civ and Civ
colonization being the bigger disappointments. I am hoping the next one will resolve something.

Then you can find the best version to run a game in and only test on newer Wine releases. Also
if your game stopped working you should file a bug report at winehq bugzilla and report it
in the wine appdb that a release broke a game or application.

Yes that's one way, However, I have never done this sort of thing before and would rather avoid the
mess of a mistake until I have the skill. I'd love to try running wine without KDE (or gnome)
too.

If I must compile from source I'd rather try it with something simple first.

So many games
were broken I suspect something might be wrong with my system.
